Hi. I’m Brandon Soublet. Welcome to my site. You may have some questions. As Lieutenant Worf reminded us at the Klingon monastery on Boreth, “questions are the beginning of wisdom – the mark of a true warrior.”
Who are you?
My name is Brandon (O.) Soublet. I am a communications professional in Oakland, CA. I’m an alumnus of California State University East Bay, Georgetown University, and the Leon and Sylvia Panetta Institute for Public Policy’s Congressional internship program.
Why does this site exist?
In 2018, I noticed that the first result in a Google search of my name was a news story about another Brandon Soublet who was arrested for stealing motorcycles in Biloxi, Mississppi. I’m sure that most people don’t expect to see themselves as the top search result on Google, but with such an uncommon name, I most certainly did. This incident made me realize that I needed to establish my own online brand and presence to distance myself from the unscrupulous scofflaw Brandon M. Soublet.

What’s your deal?
I specialize in combining my excellent problem-solving skills and versatility with my clear and direct communication style to make highly technical concepts understandable for appropriate audiences. During my nearly 10 years in DC, I helped large and small organizations in the public and private sectors solve their communications problems. In 2018, I transitioned back to the Bay Area and accepted a position supporting Kaiser Permanente’s information technology organization. After 2.5 years at KP, I moved to Flexport as a senior internal communications manager. I’m now seeking my next opportunity. Take a look at my resume.
There is more to me, of course, than this reverse-chronological listing of places I have worked. In my free time, I enjoy getting outdoors to race radio-controlled cars, kayak, bicycle, and walk my dog, Temba. Indoors, I like watching Star Trek and NASCAR, yelling at Hoya basketball games, and making up excuses to skip the gym. Despite these last two facts, they sometimes allow me on the court at Capital One Arena to shoot free throws.
Why am I here?
That’s a good question. I assume it’s because you are a potential employer or colleague who wants to learn more about me and my work, but you could be a friend or family member who stumbled across this site, or a member of Section 31 sent from the future to influence Earth’s past. Regardless, you should email me and let me know what you think of the site.
I hope you enjoy my site, and that it gives you a good sense of who I am as a communications professional and a person.
